We made a birthday card for him again, so please SIGN it! Tell all your friends to sign it too! Make Slug feel the luv! http://mars.GuestFile.com/home/view.rc?LoginName=slugbday
May 30, 2001 Whoa! Another update! I know you're impressed. I was going to save this for the relaunch of the website, but I feel generous. Butch appeared on Fozzy's cd singing on a track called Over The Mountain. Now it may sound an awful lot like that song by Ozzy Osbourne, but it's a Fozzy song. Ozzy ripped it off from them. :) You can find it on the Other page in the Multimedia section in both Real Audio and mp3. Another thing you can find on that page is the trailer for an upcoming movie called The New Guy. It looks pretty funny. The Braveheart scene was retarded though. ANYWAY, why do we all care about this movie trailer? Well, Marvelous 3 have a song on it! I Could Change is featured at the end of the trailer! There's no word on a soundtrack for the movie or a release date, so I don't know if it will be used in the movie or on the soundtrack. We all know what happeed with Loser, that damn movie (that thank god I saved my $8 on) didn't use Freak of the Week in the movie or on the soundtrack, but it was in the trailer. I know for sure SR-71 has a song on the soundtrack for The New Guy, so we'll just hope for the best for M3. :) That's it for right now... I forgot to send myself the pictures from the Cotton Club and Dark Horse Tavern, so they're still sitting on my home computer. Duh. Please keep sending contributions and suggestions to us.
May 29, 2001 Hey everyone! Good news, I am finally transferring the info from this old site to the new format. Once that's done, I have a few NEW pages to add. Look forward to loads of new sounds, new pictures, and some little known facts about the Marvelous 3. I am still looking for ideas and contributions! Email us. Thank you Scott who posted this on the messageboard. It's news about Butch's next production project!
Also, thank you to JJ who left this information about his band's first headlining show! They also have a new website located at: http://snakes.logjam.com
That's about it for now! Look forward to some pics from the Cotton Club and Dark Horse Tavern, coming soon!
May 24, 2001 Well! If I would have known Metal Sludge was linking my page up to their Rewind with Butch, I would have cleaned up the place for them! So, I'm going to hurry a bit now. The biggest news is, Metal Sludge's Rewind with Butch Walker! It's a very good interview, pure Butch. He made me laugh, he made me think. All the qualities of a good interview! Check it out! They used a couple of my pics from the show in LA, I was pretty happy. :) Also, I want to remind everyone that Marvie World is being redesigned, hence the lack of updates. You will be blown away with all of the new content that it's going to have. Be afraid, be very afraid! The new design has been compared to an Atari game which is cool I guess. I was down with Atari back in the day. My mom used to get free games at work, maybe it warped my mind in to designing that way. I don't know. What I would like are ideas, suggestions, contributions (art, pictures, reviews, sound files, money, trips to Atlanta...) from anyone and everyone for the new site. I want it to be all about you, the M3 fans! Please send ideas to us. As always, full credit is always given. I'm sure most people know this, but Marvelous 3 will be playing August 3rd at On the Bricks in Atlanta. Music Midtown was a HUGE success! I was lucky enough to have press passes, via my good friend Bryan over at MFNRocks, so I have some upclose pictures of the band at Midtown. I will try and get them up soon, I was hoping to wait for the redesign though. We'll be having a contest again soon. I haven't decided what kind yet. Hopefully something everyone can be in. Maybe just a random drawing. I don't know... just a head's up. I would like also to mention a cool band that covers Marvelous 3 called Erotic Suicide... Check 'em out. That's about it! Thanks to all and hopefully my next update will be from the new site!
April 15, 2001 Happy Easter everyone! That is, if you celebrate. If not, Happy Sunday! I want to remind everyone that Jayce's birthday is in 3 days, PLEASE sign his birthday card if you haven't already. http://free.GuestFile.com/home/view.rc?LoginName=jaycebirthday In webpage updates: We have a great new picture in the Fan Pictures of our new friend Carrie and M3 at the video shoot for Freak of the Week! You can find this section in the Pictures menu under Other. Also, another great Marvie fan named Zach made a killer picture of M3! It's in the Art section of the Fan Corner. Check the Text Interviews section for a new interview about Butch's likes. Concert Reviews has a review of last October's show in Dallas. Also added, some Hey!Album reviews from The Oklahoma Daily and The Tech. And, just a reminder, we are redesigning the site. Please email us any suggestions you have!
April 10, 2001 Hey everyone! As some of you (especially those of you who read the Band Bio) may know, Jayce's birthday is coming up real soon. April 18th is the big day! So, we here are Marvie World have decided to do our annual online birthday card for him! Please take a moment to sign it and wish him a happy birthday. http://free.GuestFile.com/home/view.rc?LoginName=jaycebirthday Also, this year we are forgoing the web based present in favor of making a donation to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Jayce's name. By the way, to avoid any rumors (because you know they always come up), Jayce doesn't have Leukemia. In other news, I am redesigning the website right now. I wanted to do it for Marvie World's birthday (which has come and gone, Happy Birthday to us! We're 2 years old!), but such is life. I'm working on a bit of Flash right now. It's pretty nifty. There will be a LOT of new items added to the website so look forward to that! I will be making small updates between now and then. Email us if you have anything you want to see on the website! Any and all suggestions are welcome!
March 20, 2001 Hey everyone. Butch has made a big-ass statement on the Official Marvelous 3 website. It explains what happened and what the furture holds for the Marvelous 3. I highly recommend heading over there and reading it. Also, we have a new guestbook. I am working on getting it up on every page, each section at a time. Currently it IS available on this page and on the home page, as well as some others. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of the day. Thank god for Dreamweaver or else this would be a really crappy project to undertake. And, don't forget to keep voting for streaming or downloading. The details are in the update below this one.
March 18, 2001 Well, I have finally been able to get streaming audio, the question is, do you, the users of Marvie World, want it? So, I have made up a little poll, please vote. I will look at the results at the end of the week and if the people have decided for streaming I'll get working on converting my audio files. If not, it will stay the same way it is now. Here's a few things you may want to know before you make your decision: 1. If you are on a really slow modem, some songs may take awhile to buffer if they are streaming, which interrupts the song. 2. If you are on a really slow modem the songs will probably take the same amount or more to download. 3. With streaming audio you can listen in real time (see item 1) but downloading requires time to save the file before you listen. 4. Streaming audio isn't easily downloadable, so you won't be able to save your favorite songs on your harddrive. More advanced internet users will still be able to download the files.
March 14, 2001 I was feeling somewhat creative tonight... In webpage updates: 2 new winamp skins have been added to the Art section in Fan Corner.
March 12, 2001 Hey everyone! More news from Butch. There will be a statement on the Official M3 site coming soon, AND the Rome show has been cancelled. The will make it up but there are NO dates announced yet because NOTHING has been planned. Stay tuned for the official word on any rescheduled dates when they become official. ere is what Butch had to say on the messageboard (which you can get to by clicking the link on the left of your screen).
March 9, 2001 I'm just an updating machine lately aren't I? Well, it's not Marvie related, but it's of interest to me (and it's my page so I'll put up what I want to) and probably to quite a few people out there who enjoy good rock music. Well obviously you all do or else you wouldn't be here. But I digress... I was asked to put up a banner for one of my favorite bands American Pearl, because their label, Wind Up, is giving away an autographed guitar. So I figure, why not? I urge everyone who hasn't to check out American Pearl because they are a great band. Still no word from Butch, but I'll keep you posted!
March 8, 2001 Well I have nothing to add to the label saga as I have yet to hear anything else that's concrete. I just wanted to take the time to thank Metal Sludge for linking up this site and to say hi to all of the Sludgaholics visiting! For those of you who are not familiar with Metal Sludge, please go check them out immediatley! It's the best music site on the net. http://www.metal-sludge.com
March 7, 2001 Late breaking news... Marvelous 3 have been granted a release from Elektra Records. They have NOT been dropped. Look for an official statement from Butch coming later today or tomorrow. This email was sent out to the Marvelous 3 e-streetteam list:
February 26, 2001 It's been awhile! I'm sorry! I've been adding stuff over the past week or so but I finally complied enough to actually make an "update" about it. First, though, I would like to start by smushing a rumor before anyone else gets started on it. The Marvelous 3 are NOT breaking up. Butch made this post on the Marvie World messageboard (that you can access by clicking that little button on the left):
Now that that's out of the way, here's what's been updated: In webpage updates: A few text interviews that I've been meaning to get to have been added. These include some emails from Butch regarding the Rome show, and even an old one from back in January of 2000. Also, 2 articles from the Asbury Park Press and @ N- Zone have been added. The links page has been modified. I think this will be easier to navigate. A new M3 fan site has been added, as well as some more Associated bands. It's always good to be friends of firends of the Marvies. :) I finally got some Lyrics up! Merry Christmas, Lefty, and Reelin' in the Years have all been added to the Lyrics section under "Other." That's it for now! Look back for more later!
February 7, 2001 Hello everyone! I am pleased to announce the winner in the first Marvie World creative contest is... Jennifer P. from Texas for her entry "Marv 3" a song about the Marvelous 3 set to the tune of Grant Park!!! Jennifer will be winning a Marvelous 3 calendar! It was a really tight race and I want to say thank you to everyone who participated and BIG thank you to the 5 people who made it to the final round. Also, thank you to the judges for taking time out to help me out with the contest. Here's how the voting turned out:
The top 5 entries, including Jennifer's winning song, are still up on the voting page, the remaining entries will be posted soon.
February 2, 2001 Well hello there! After MUCH hard thinking and deciding by the judges and delays on my part, we have come down to the final 5 entries. Now YOU can vote on your favorite! Vote by clicking the icon on the home page or by clicking here. In Marvie news: Over the past couple of days quite a few people expressed some dissatisfaction with Butch for not coming out and socializing after the Atlanta concert. While it has died down, I would like to post an email Butch wrote to our friend Sarah about what happened: hey dear... sorry about the show
problems.. you know i hate hearing that. as for the sound, sorry, i had
nothing to do with it. while i am in an apologizing rant, i will say sorry
for not being able to come out and see the fans. i promise, and you know
me, it wasnt intentional. people forget that i am local in atlanta, and
all of my relatives were there, and i never get to see them. my dad is
in very physically bad shape right now, and i had to make sure all of
my family was taken care of, and by the time i got everybody home and
in bed, it was about 4am. so please tell everyone on the message boards
that might not understand, to please understand. it was hectic, for alot
of reasons that night. it never seems that way out of town. and not to
mention, alot of bigger bands, dont even stay around at all to talk to
fans. they just split. well you know that is not us, or me. you can post
this or tell people whatever you think will make people feel better, but
i think they truly understand. we had an amazing time at the show, and
although it was a riot, i was up to my ass with family related matters.
you know we love our fans, and i regreted not getting to talk to everyone.
i actually mentioned it about 20 times to people the following day (i
get points for that, right?). see you soon, and i hope your eye isnt hurting lotsa love! butch walker Marvelous 3 have been popping up everywhere! I can't count the number of different people who have told meabout hearing clips of Marvelous 3 songs on HOWARD STERN's radio show! How exciting is that??? Howard is broadcast on hundreds of station all over the world! Talk about exposure! Also, according to our friend Rachel Freak of the Week was played on the now cancelled (but in syndication!) series Clueless! More stuff to come, hopefully over the weekend. I'm going to be working so hey maybe I'll use the fast connection for something good.
January 28, 2001 Hi everyone! Judging for the contest is going well. We have a Tuesday deadline but if everyone gets their choices in on time I might be able to get this judging thing going a lot sooner. I am expecting Thursday for the final portion of judging by YOU! I have a Wednesday deadline for a site I'm working on for my company, so this is why I say Thursday. I love you guys, but I gotta get paid too. Stay tuned for more details on the contest. Also, we had an incident on the messageboard yesterday that has since been deleted. I just want to say, that as much as I like running an open messageboard, there is a limit to what I will allow. Hateful messages will not be tolerated. I don't care if someone posts on the board that they don't like Marvelous 3, it's stupid to go out of their way to find a M3 site if they don't like them, but whatever. However, if someone posts a nasty and hateful message like this person did then it is not acceptable. Not here, and not anywhere. In webpage updates: Pictures from the show at The Roxy in Atlanta in September are up in the concert section! Thank you Amanda for sending those in.
January 23, 2001 The contest is officially closed for judging. What happens now is a pannel of 6 judges will pick a few of our favorites. This will take a few days, as I have to make the entires accessible to all of the judges. Then, we will announce the finalists and have YOU the loyal visitors of Marvie World decide who you think the winner is. Please refer to the contest page for all the rules and regulations and processes. In webpage updates: Two new tour dates have been added. One of the has Elliot James and the Snakes opening. FYI, that is JJ's band! Check them out if you're able to. A new wallpaper is up in the Fan Corner. Graciously contributed by Lydia!
January 19, 2001 ***The contest has been extended*** Due to more than a few people asking for an extension, the contest has been extended to Monday the 22nd. You have the weekend to send in your entries! Also, I apologize for lack of updates. We have plenty to update but it's been a hard 2 weeks. Between an energy crisis, internet connection going in and out, worrying about jury duty, having an ulcer over U2 tickets, and having a coronary over my company's website, I think it's safe to say I have an excuse not to have updated. I will try over the weekend to get sme concert pictures up. Thank you for your patience everyone. January 4, 2001 Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had fun over the holiday season. Things are swinging back here at Marvie World. We have lots of things to put up over the course of the month and a new contest! Here's what's new today: In webpage updates: The most exciting thing we have to report is that we are running a new contest! It's an open creative contest, so that means just about anything goes. And, since this will be a rather hard contest to decide a winner on, we have made the prize an extra special one. The winner will get a Marvelous 3 2001 Calendar! 12 months of Marvies on your wall! We only had 7 of these made, so it's a rare commodity. Check out the contest page for contest rules and details. We have concert pictures! Check out some great shots from Charleston and Knoxville. More coming soon! In chart news: Year-end charts are coming in from everywhere. One of the most impressive positions M3 found themselves in, was on Alternative Addiction! Here's how they did:
Don't forget to keep requesting GET OVER! A lot of stations around the country are adding it. If your local station isn't, talk to the MUSIC DIRECTOR. This is more effective than talking to a DJ. Keep spreading the marvie love!
