New Wallpaper added to the Fan Corner!

May 4, 2002

Thanks to Tim, there's a new show added to the Live section. It's of Butch's solo show at 10 High from March. Enjoy!

April 21, 2002

Well! My Way has leaked and they put it up on Butch's site, so I don't feel guilty about putting it up on Marvie World any more. I also scanned the cover art, it's pretty big because it's print quality. It may look huge on your screen but it prints to around 4 inches. Thank you Bobby!

Promotional Pictures have finally been updated with the Bacardi ad. I know it's late, but it's there now.

Keep checking the Marvie World Messageboard for all the latest news as it comes up.

January 7, 2002

Hey guys! Long time no update, most of the news has been going on over at the messageboard. Be sure to keep up to date with that. There's also a few spirited "debates" that spark up every so often, feel free to join in.

I hadn't mentioned it here before, but yes it is true that Arista is Butch's new label. Congratulations Butch! Metal Sludge posted this article today. Thank you to everyone who emailed me about it. You finally got me off my duff to actually update the site! http://www.metal-sludge.com/ButchGetsDeal.htm

November 20, 2001

Attention all messageboard users! The Messageboard and the Buy/Swap/Sell board are MOVING! The new location is: http://pub95.ezboard.com/bmarvieworld for both of them. Happy Birthday Butch!

For all of you out there who haven't signed the card, you still can! Click here to sign it: http://butchbday01.signmyguestbook.com/

November 11, 2001

It's about that time! Butch's birthday is this Wednesday, so we here at Marvie World have made our traditional online birthday card for all of you, the Marvelous 3 and Butch Walker fans. Please take a minute to sign this online birthday card and let him know how you feel: http://butchbday01.signmyguestbook.com/

The card's a little cheezy, but it was meant to be fun, because that's what Butch and the Marvelous 3 mean to us.

Thank you,
Marvie World

November 8, 2001

Finally! The audio links should all work again. I also added a show from the Hey!Album tour from Dayton, OH. Unfortunately, since I moved everything to this server instead of sharing it, the Bowery Ballroom video won't be back up for awhile. It's just too big.

Also, Butch is in an ad for Bacardi in this month's issue of Vogue (Britney Spears cover).

October 18, 2001

Like every good ball player he has a card! Check this out:

Lit's new album Atomic came out Tuesday! Butch cowrote 2 songs on the album, "The Last Time" and "Sunny Weather." If you have a Best Buy near you, stop by there and pick it up for $7.99! Also, if you pick up Handsome Devil's new album (Butch contributed some backing vocals and claps to that album) at Best Buy there's a $2 off coupon for Lit's new album inside of it. Or if you don't have a Best Buy near you or you just want to order online, you can pick up Lit's new album at Amazon. To find out more about Lit check out their Official Site or Lit Online.

In news of the weird... a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) found something that was... interesting. I guess that's the only word I can use to describe it. Someone over at a Julian McMahon fansite (the guy from Charmed who plays Cole) made a video for Marvelous 3's Cold As Hell. The video just has the song to Charmed tv footage, but it was kinda funny. Check it out if you're interested. Be careful though it's about 12mb.

October 2, 2001

Hey everyone! I just got confirmation of this news so I thought I would post it. How many of you
remember Bowling For Soup? They're a really awesome band from Texas who had a hit with a song called
"The Bitch Song." It was really funny, and their whole album was really good in my opinion. SO... you're
wondering... ok what's this have to do with anything Marv3? Well! It seems Butch will be working on their
next album! Here's an excerpt from an email from Jaret of BFS:

We will be doing the album with Butch Walker, formerly of Marvelous 3.....Butch is an amazing talent, and
I think he will bring the rock out of our fat asses......

So, stay tuned for more info about the new Bowling For Soup album!

September 30, 2001

Hey everyone! We have a nice update today. A very sweet girl by the name of Nicole shared some of her poetry about Butch and Marvelous 3 with us. You can all enjoy it in the writing section of the Fan Corner.

Also, I know I didn't write in here about it, but incase you were wondering, the official Marvelous 3 went down because their web host changed the server it was sitting on, without making a copy of it and then lost the site. A new site should be up in the near future. We will keep you posted about that.

September 24, 2001

Butch is going to be hosting Axel's show on 99x all this week from 3pm-7pm EST! If you are not from Atlanta you can tune in from your computer by going to www.99x.com and clicking Look | Listen. You can either listen to it or watch it in Real Video! f you want to call in to say something to Butch or to request a song the number is 404-741-0997. Butch has been playing some good tunes and has been really funny on the air! Plus you gotta love him for plugging Marvie World on the air! Thank you Butch!

August 30, 2001

Long time not update! Between being busy and lazy I just haven't gotten around to updating! First some announcements.

We are ALMOST there! We need about 50 more signatures on the petition to get M3 into the GA Music Hall of Fame. PLEASE sign it if you haven't already, and get your friends to sign it as well. http://www.PetitionOnline.com/marv3/petition.html

There will be NO MORE t-shirts for sale, effective immediately. It's hard for me to keep track of it all and some other issues are just not making it easy. For everyone who has ordered one post-OTB and not gotten them, you will get them in the next 2 weeks.

In webpage updates: Be sure to check out the Live page in Multimedia! Tim has put up a sample of the Cotton Club video! He wants to see what you all think and if response is good he will encode the whole thing! Also, the audio on that is a little off, he said he will do it better if everyone decides they want the whole thing. Make your voice heard on the messageboard!

Also in the Live page, check out a FULL mp3 of the 12/2/00 show in Fort Mills, SC and a full mp3 of Live X.

FINALLY we have On the Bricks photos up! There are MORE to come, all taken from the photo pit, so they are upclose and good! Also we will have some more pictures from other shows that I've been meaning to put up... yeah I'm lazy.

Be sure to check out the Scanned Interviews section, I added Jezebel and an old picture from Vogue.

That's it for now!

August 10, 2001

Hi everyone! First of all I want to apologize to everyone who has tried to get to the messageboard and not been able to. Boardhost is currently down, they are trying to replace some hardware that failed. They have predicted it will be up shortly. Sorry about that!

Next, On the Bricks. I thought it was an excellent show! I miss them already! Heck I missed them as I was walking away from the park! There will be pictures from me and 4 others coming SOON! I have been editing photos all week, I am going to drop soon!

Also, to let everyone know, there was a petition going around the park last Friday to get Marvelous 3 into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. We got almost 500 signatures! Thank you Kelly and Ashley and Sky and Katie for taking the petition around!! There is an online petition that we need to get signatures on! Please sign the petition here and have all your friends sign it too! http://www.PetitionOnline.com/marv3/petition.html

I am still taking orders for t-shirts. Please check below for a sample of the art and all the ordering information. The next order I am making to the printer is Friday August 17th. Get your order in before then!

July 28, 2001

Only a few days away! There's lots to say today!

Here's the low down on the Marvie World meeting at On the Bricks.

Amy and I decided the best plans for On the Bricks to meet everyone would be the simplest plan of all. The plan is to meet outside the gates to get into the show at 5:30. I believe gates open at 6. You should be able to spot us, there will be a few Marvie World t-shirts in the crowd.

If you make it a little late, the next place to be is the lobby of the Westin hotel AFTER the show. The Westin is only a few blocks from On the Bricks. This is the address:
210 Peachtree Street N.W.
Atlanta , Georgia 30303
Phone: (404) 659-1400

If you still want a t-shirt please read the order information below.

In webpage updates: Tim has done it again! Check out the Live page in Multimedia! You will find mp3s and video of Butch at the Songwriter's Round in 1998! Included is an unreleased song called So Much To Ask. Also you will find video of Marvelous 3's appearances on HBO's Reverb, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the Late Show with David Letterman, and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno!

We will have more updates early next week, including a new concert of the month and some contributions that I totally forgot to upload while I was on my "fast" (yeah right, it was dead Friday) connection at work.

July 20, 2001

Hey everyone! Keep sending in your t-shirt orders! Please read the update below for all of the ordering information. We have one small but VERY exciting update today! I know a lot of people have been waiting a long time to hear this!

In webpage updates: People Are Strange, Marvelous 3's cover of the Door's song, has been posted on the Other page in the Multimedia section! This song was going to be on the Door's Tribute album, Stoned Immaculate. However, due to some "record company politics" that song and a few others by such artists as Marilyn Manson, Bush, and others. I know a lot of people have been wondering about the existance of the song and hoping to get a copy of it, and it's finally available for everyone to download! I want to take a second to thank Tucker and Amy for making this all possible. You guys rock!!

July 19, 2001

Hey all! Well, I sure succumb to peer pressure easily! Looks like I'm going to Atlanta after all. Sure I won't be able to eat while in Atlanta because I'll be flat broke, but that's ok, as long as I don't starve to death until Saturday.

Anyway I have the final info about the t-shirts. I am taking orders right now. Please send me an email if you are serious about ordering a shirt. Do not email me if you are just thinking about it, I can't afford to buy shirts and just sit on them. I am not making a profit on these so I am just taking your money and giving it straight to the printer. Please have consideration for me and my lack thereof bank account. Here are the details:

  • T-shirts are $13 total. That is the price of the shirt (plus a little extra since I have to pay the sales tax on it) and shipping Priority mail. If you are from outside the US please let me know and I will have to adjust the price of shipping.
  • If you want a t-shirt PLEASE send me an email to kristie@marvieworld.com with the following information
    • Size
    • Quantity
    • Your mailing address
    • How you intend to pay
  • Payment information is as follows
    • PayPal, please send the money by Monday before 6pm PST (NO EXCEPTIONS) if you want your T-shirt in the first round of printing. This is the fastest way to get your T-shirt Please send PayPal money to my account: ProBandFan@aol.com
      • If you do not have PayPal, here is an explanation. It is a service where you can use your credit card or debit card to send someone else money. It is very safe, thousands of people use it every day for ebay. I have used it for nearly 2 years both sending and receiving money and have never had a problem. To sign up for a PayPal account please click the following banner. For signing up you will get $5 free which is like getting $5 off your T-shirt
Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!
    • Snail mail check, money order, or cash. Try not to send cash, it's dangerous! Send cash at your own risk. To get my snail mail address for where to send the money please email me. If you send your money now you could probably have it into me by early next week for the second round of printing. Possible to have it by the August 3rd show, but no promises.
    • You can send money whenever you want, I will be making shirts available for the next few months, just please email me ahead of time.

In case anyone forgot here is the final design of the shirt. It may look a little tiny bit different since I have to recreate Kim's design in high resolution format for printing.

July 14, 2001

Well! It's been 10 days since the redesign went up. How eventful! I know that everyone's pretty bummed out about the news, and everyone has a right to be. Some people have been taking the break up news the wrong way, and thinking M3 just gave up, but they didn't. Please read the statement on the official site carefully. Also, Butch commented on it further this morning on the Messageboard. It doesn't get much clearer than that! I'll post that message at the end for those of you who are too lazy to go to the board.

First of all, I would like to take a second to thank everyone who's emailed or posted about how much they love the new look. You spoil us, really! Thank you, both Jenn and I really appreciate it. You guys are why we have kept this site running for over 2 years and keeping it chock full of all things Marvelous 3! We do want to say that even though M3 is over, this site isn't! There are still so much M3 to explore and discover! Music to hear, videos to see, interviews to read! There will be some changes, the tour page is going to have different sections so that you can keep track of your favorite Marvie! This site is called Marvie World, so it's extending to encompass the whole M3 world going forward! Anyway enough of what's to come, this is what's here now!

In webpage updates: Check the Live page in the Multimedia section for an mp3 and Real Video of a song called On The Floor. It's in the last table, called Random. They are very good quality files considering it's live! Thank you very much to our good friend Tim. You might see more from this show later.

In case you haven't read it yet, Butch posted an addendum to what's on the Official Site about the break up. Here it is:

alright now..

okay, i dont normally lurk around the message boards, but it was brought to my attention by someone that people were not "getting" the reason for the band's indefinite demise. so listen up, before you start making irrational assumptions and getting all out of whack about it (believe me, i am flattered that anyone would get irate about this, but there is some amount of understanding involved first).
jayce is leaving the group. did you not read that? jayce is leaving the group! this means, i, simply out of respect, do not want to replace him, because i dont think it would be right. put yourself in my shoes. before anybody knew or gave a damn about us, we slugged it out (sorry slug) in the clubs since i was 16 years old! we are best friends! dont think that there isn't a certain amount of loyalty and brotherhood here. the "biz" did not get the best of us. jayce did not decide to leave the group because of the "biz". some things are more important than "the biz". we all respected this. and besides, would you want to see somebody else up there interacting with me onstage? i thought not. i couldn't bear the thought of it. so, like i said, we would rather jump immediately into other musical projects that we have had the craving to do, but out of respect for the marvies, haven't been able to do. does this mean we are quitters? #### no! do you really see us going out and selling our guitars and getting a job at the local record store? #### no! i have a job to do. i have a mission to accomplish. do you know what that mission is? well, in case you don't know.... IT'S TO TAKE OVER THE ####ING WORLD WITH MY MUSIC! i have had to reinvent, restart, and reset my musical projects about every 3 years for the last decade.. what makes you think i am going to stop here? this is all part of the book, and it's just another chapter. chapter 1: Byte the Bullet. 2: Southgang. 3: Floyds funk Revival. 4: the Floyds. 5: The Marvelous 3... chapter 6? well, you get the idea by now.
everybody has to realize that 90% of artists that go through a major label deal, usually fail, and you never hear from them again. this wont happen. people have tried to stop us and hold us back for years, and are still trying, but will not succeed. you see, this is our way at getting the best of the "biz". most people working on the other side just assume, they will work with an artist, then that artist will burn out, fade away, and they will move onto someone else. well, we have been proving that theory wrong, to a certain degree for years. sure we know that we are not mega stars and have never acheived mega success, but that is the beauty of kinda "coasting" through our careers, instead of the big rush up front, and then the ride is over. we think we've been getting the best of it for years. if i were truly bitter and a quitter (damn, my rhyming is still top notch..), i would be done with this thing called "music in the popular world". you know why? because it eats at you like a disease. the naysayers. the jealousy and envy. the overworked and underpayed, and underappreciated, ethic involved. the fact that you put yourself out on the "critical chopping block" for the whole world to throw whatever they want at you when you have the balls to play, sing, write and perform something to them that you truly believed in. think about it. would you do it? do you do it? let me tell you something. the reason we do it after all the headaches and heartaches? it's an addiction, baby. like getting your first hole-in-one or first touchdown. when you shoot and score, and people praise you for it, and it's something you did that you truly believe in, then you want to do it more. i wouldn't do anything else in the whole world than this job. and with that said, i have to get off this ####ing computer and get back to making music... cuz like i said... i have a world to conquer...
much appreciation goes out to all of you who are standing by us, and having the dedication to believe in everything we do. i love you guys and i will see you soon.

butch

July 13, 2001

Geez, what Friday the 13th. Well, it's finally come. The news we have all been waiting for, yet dreading all at the same time. The Marvelous 3 is over. Please head to the Official Marvelous 3 website to read all about it. Also they have put the Grant Park video on the site, and a link to the new M3 merch.

July 10, 2001

In webpage updates: The indie Hey!Album has been added in it's entirety in mp3 format! You can find this on the Hey!Album page in the Mutlimedia section.

A concert review has been written about Music Midtown by Dan. Be sure to check that out!

July 4, 2001

It's FINALLY here! The new and improved Marvie World! This new interface streamlines all of the categories into easily manageable popup menus. You should be able to find anything you want to from any page in the site in seconds!

There are SO many new things to see here that we can't possibly list them all. Some of the highlights are LOADS of new audio and video in the multimedia section, including FULL concerts in mp3 and video! We have also added lots more concert pictures, fan art, and more!

Another important thing to announce: Marvie World has a new sister site, Radio Marvelous, made by our rockin' friend Kim. It is debuting today also! She has been gracious enough to let me store some of my large sound and video files on her server so I don't kill our host's, Dave, server with all of this stuff! We are sharing some files, so you may see a link to something on Radio Marvelous on here or on Marvie World on hers.

This is a culmination of MANY months of work, so if you can make our day, it would rock if you could leave a message in our Guestbook or Messageboard! Thanks!

June 9, 2001

Hey! Pictures are up finally!

In webpage updates: Check the Concert pictures section for pictures from the Cotton Club and Dark Horse Tavern. If you're under 18 please get your parents' permission to view pics from the Dark Horse! Hahaha! Thanks to Kit and Amy! Midtown pictures will be up with the new site.

Don't forget to sign Slug's birthday card, his birthday is TOMORROW!

http://mars.GuestFile.com/home/view.rc?LoginName=slugbday

Also, we are looking at a July 1st deadline for the new site. (don't quote me on that though) There's a LOT of stuff to move and reformat. 2 years of information sure adds up! If things work out we will be launching the same day as a kool NEW M3 site. I know you can't wait. :) Don't forget! Contributions are always welcome! Send them to kristie@marvieworld.com

We have some news. Word on the street is that Butch was in LA recently to cowrite some tunes with Lit for their new album. Lit's new album is supposedly being recorded right now, produced by Don Gilmore.
