At times this Georgia trio verges on being too clever for its own good, but the band performs with such genuine spunk that even its most self-conscious popster poses are appealing. Upbeat numbers "Freak of the Week" and "Indie Queen" show off M3's "My Sharona"-style Knack for snappy, crackling pop, while the slow songs brim with lilting melancholy. Trace evidence of psychedelia crops up on a couple of tracks, and "Over Your Head" is a wry tribute to Steve Miller that reworks "Space Cowboy" into a hilarious new groove. Not particularly profound, but lots of fun.
